stained glass appliques

Cathedral Window 25, 26 from Virtual Quilter

These designs are probably not what would be expected in a cathedral window, but I would like to see them in windows and doors in my home!

I wonder if stained glass is made anymore. I know a few people make leadlight, but not stained glass.

I have fantasies about the front door having one of these designs, possibly the one above minus the blocks on the sides.

Very interesting, and I can imagine this as floor tiles in a large foyer! It would also look nice on a bed.

The only way I will ever have stained glass designs in my rented home is to make them from fabric … quite apart from the cost factor!

Cathedral Window 19, 20 from Virtual Quilter

I keep thinking I should make this project file a bit brighter, or move the window to the bright side of the house, but despite it being very close to summer here Down Under, the weather is more winter than summer, and has been for over a week, so this is what I would be seeing through stained glass every day at the moment, regardless of where the windows faced!

I wonder if washing the windows would help? Probably not, as most of them have been hosed down in the last little while.

I would love a stained glass window, but virtual quilt designs will have to do for now.

Like both of the two designs above.

Love the last one, if for no other reason it would just about be big enough for our bed!

Cathedral Window 12, 13, 14 from Virtual Quilter

I like this one, designed before I started redrawing applique blocks. Some of these blocks have been redrawn, others are waiting patiently for their turn … way more patiently than me!

I wouldn’t change much in the second design … except the colours. They need to be more like the glowing colours of stained glass.

Simply lovely, but needs a colour change like the last couple.
